１．研究会の概要
「英語教育を人間教育の立場から考える」という観点に立ち，英語教育学・英語学研究者の視点と英米文学
研究者の視点の双方から、英語教育における効果的な文学教材の使用を研究している。
２．2023年度の活動報告
2023年度はzoomによるオンライン形式で下記の例会を開催した。

Study Group for Literature in Language Education

We study and promote the use of literary works as a means of making English language education more meaningful for each student’s personal development, based on the idea that language learning is part of
cultural enrichment. In pursuit of this aim, our members conduct research, using a wide range of methodologies, including English literary criticism, English pedagogy, and English philology. The main activities of the group are two regular meetings held in spring and autumn. At these meetings, the members present research papers and practical reports on the use of literature in the classroom and on the development of English skills.
2. Summary of Activities in 2023
The spring meeting was held on 15 April 2023 and the autumn one was held on 28 October 2023. In total, four research presentations were provided at both meetings via Zoom. In addition to these regular meetings, the poster presentation was given at the 62nd JACET International Conference on 31 August 2023. 3. Summary of Activities in 2024
Two research presentations were given at the spring meeting held on 18 May 2024.The autumn meeting was substituted for the Kansai Chapter second lecture meeting of 2024 and a guest speaker and a study group member each gave a special lecture. 4. Plans for 2025
The regular meetings by Zoom are scheduled in spring and autumn in 2025. Furthermore, in August 2025, the poster will be presented at the 64th JACET International Conference.
5. Message to Prospective Members
Active discussion and the exchange of ideas in a friendly atmosphere are hallmarks of our group. We welcome academics in literary studies and those interested in using literature as a teaching material. Middle and high school teachers, and students are also encouraged to join.
