1．研究会の概要
英語学・言語学の研究から得られた知見を整理すること、そして言語事実を新たに掘り起こすことに注力しています。そうした研究活動の成果を例会の場で共有・検討し、教育現場における効果的で精度の高い文法指導のあり方を、様々な角度から模索しています。2025年5月現在、登録会員数は約45名で、大学教員だけでなく中学校・高等学校・専門学校の教員をされている方などもいらっしゃいます。
2．2025年度の活動報告
学習英文法研究会では、今年度、2月15日に例会をオンラインで開催しました。発表は「シネクドキーとカテゴリー（化）を捉え直す」および「現代英語の命令的仮定法への認知文法的アプローチ」という題で行われ、参加者は12名でした。質疑応答も活発に交わされ、有意義な議論が展開されました。特筆すべきは、発表者がいずれも学部生だということで、本研究会が広く開かれた研究・発表の場になっていることの証左と言えます。
今年度は本研究会のメーリングリストの整備も新たに行い、会員や関係者に対する情報共有を円滑化しました。また会員の研究活動の活性化を期して、大修館書店『英語教育』に研究会情報の掲載も行いました。こうした努力の結果、会員数は徐々に増加しています。
以上のような研究活動ならびに広報活動を次年度も継続していく所存です。特に例会の回数は3回程度に増やすことを目標に掲げ、発表者の募集をより積極的に行う予定です。
3．2026年度の活動予定
オンラインにて例会を開催します。支部講演会も2027年2月に予定されています。

英語学や英語教育に関心の強い方であれば、どなたでも入会可能です。英語教員に限らず、学部生・院生も歓迎します。英文法研究と文法指導の橋渡しを考えていらっしゃる方のご参加をお待ちしています。なお会費等は徴収していません。研究発表も随時募集しております。発表をご希望の方は代表または副代表までご連絡ください。

1. Main Theme
Our group is dedicated to both organizing insights gained from linguistics and conducting original research to uncover new empirical data. The findings of these activities are shared and examined during our meetings, where we explore effective and precise approaches to grammar instruction from a variety of perspectives. As of May 2025, we have around 45 registered members, including university professors as well as teachers from junior high schools, high schools, and vocational schools.
2. Summary Activities in 2025
During this academic year, we held our regular meeting online on February 15, 2026. Two presentations were given: “Reconsidering Synecdoche and Categori(zation)” and “A Cognitive Grammar Approach to the Mandative Subjunctive in Present-Day English.” The meeting, attended by twelve participants, was followed by a lively Q&A session and a productive exchange of ideas. Notably, both presenters were undergraduate students, a sign that our group serves as an open and accessible forum for research and presentation.
We also set up a new mailing list for the group, facilitating smoother information sharing among members and other interested parties. Additionally, to help invigorate our research activity, we arranged for information about the group to be listed in The English Teachers’ Magazine (Taishukan). As a result, membership has been gradually increasing.
We plan to carry these research and outreach activities forward into the next academic year. In particular, we aim to hold around three meetings and to recruit presenters more actively.
3. Plans for 2026
Regular meetings will be held online. The Kansai Chapter Lecture Meeting is scheduled for February 2027.
4. Message to Prospective Members
We welcome anyone with a keen interest in English linguistics and/or English language education.
Membership is open to all––not just English teachers but also undergraduate and graduate students. We especially encourage those seeking to bridge the gap between grammatical research and classroom
instruction to join us. There are no membership fees. We also accept proposals for presentations at any time; please contact the coordinator or assistant coordinator via email.
